Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

1. Who we are

Techmedia Mobile Pty Ltd (ABN 29 150 533 903, ACN 150 533 903), trading as TechMedia, is an Australian private company based in Oran Park, New South Wales.

2. Our privacy commitments

The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles apply to most Australian businesses. The Act contains a small business exemption for businesses with an annual turnover of $3 million or less, subject to exceptions such as some health service providers, businesses that trade in personal information, and some government contractors.

We adopt the practices described in this policy regardless of which category applies to us. Where the Act applies to us, we handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles. Where it does not, this policy still describes how we choose to handle information, and section 12 explains the difference in how a complaint can be escalated.

3. What we collect

Information you give us

SituationWhat we collect
Website enquiry formName, business name, phone number, email address, service category, message
Email or phone contactContact details and whatever you choose to tell us
Becoming a clientBusiness and billing details, system access details, project content, correspondence
Support requestsFault descriptions, system information, screenshots, and access credentials you share

We do not ask for sensitive information such as health, biometric, political or religious information.

Information collected automatically

When you load a page on this site we record your IP address, approximate location derived from it (city, region, country), browser and device details, referring site, pages viewed and visit times. This happens whether or not you submit a form. See section 6.

Payments

We accept payment by invoice and bank transfer. We do not accept or store card details on this website, and no card payment gateway is active on it.

4. Why we collect it

  1. Respond to enquiries and provide quotes.
  2. Deliver the services engaged, including support, websites, SEO audits and AI consulting.
  3. Manage accounts, invoices, payments and records required by law.
  4. Keep the website and our systems secure and diagnose faults.
  5. Understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
  6. Send service updates about work in progress.
  7. Send marketing only where we have consent or the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) otherwise permits (section 10).

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not use enquiry details for unrelated marketing.

5. Who processes information for us

5.1 Current providers

ProviderRoleProcessing location
Hostinger International LimitedWebsite hosting (origin server) and DNSPhoenix, Arizona, United States. CDN edge nodes terminate in Sydney
TitanOur mailboxes and email deliveryUnited States. The mail service runs on Amazon AWS infrastructure in Ashburn, Virginia
Amazon Web ServicesInfrastructure behind our mail serviceUnited States
Automattic Inc (Jetpack, Akismet)Site monitoring, statistics, backups, activity log, spam filteringUnited States
Defiant Inc (Wordfence)Web application firewall, malware scanning, login securityUnited States
Google LLC (Site Kit)Site connectivity only. Page analytics is not activeUnited States

Where we say a provider processes data in the United States, that reflects where the service’s infrastructure is located. It does not reflect the provider’s registered office, which we do not assert.

Some icons on this site are loaded from a third-party icon delivery network (Flaticon, operated by Freepik Company). When those icons load, that provider receives your IP address and the page you are viewing.

5.2 Overseas disclosure

Because our hosting, mail, security and monitoring providers process data in the United States, personal information we collect is likely to be stored and processed outside Australia.

Where the Privacy Act applies and we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, and we engage providers under terms that restrict their use of the data to providing the service to us.

You can ask us for the current list of providers and locations at any time.

5.3 What we do not do

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not permit our providers to use it for their own marketing.

6. Cookies, analytics and measurement

6.1 What runs today

Measurement is off until you accept it. Nothing analytics-related loads before that.

  • Google Analytics 4 is active and connected through Site Kit (measurement ID G-4VYDYSKB5L). It loads only after you accept Statistics in our consent banner. Until then the Google script is blocked, no analytics request leaves your browser and no analytics cookie is set. When active it records page views and events such as a contact form submission, together with approximate location derived from IP, browser and device, referring site, pages viewed and times, and a randomly generated identifier. It sets the _ga and _ga_4VYDYSKB5L cookies. Advertising features, remarketing and advertising personalisation are not enabled. Data is processed by Google LLC in the United States.
  • WP Statistics runs on our own server and records similar visit information without setting cookies. It does not build advertising profiles and does not send data to third parties.
  • Functional cookies are used to serve the site, process forms and record your consent choice.
  • No advertising, retargeting or social media pixels are in use.
  • Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie we set, its purpose and how long it lasts.

6.2 Changes we are making

We are reducing what our analytics keeps.

  • IP anonymisation. WP Statistics currently stores full IP addresses. We are changing it to anonymise or hash IP addresses at collection. This change is not yet complete. While it is outstanding, this policy states plainly that full IP addresses are stored.
  • Retention. Analytics records are kept for the period in section 8. Automated deletion is not yet configured. Until it is, we review retained records manually on a scheduled basis and delete anything no longer needed.

We will update this section when each change is live.

6.3 Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies does not prevent you submitting an enquiry.

We show a consent banner to every visitor, in Australia and elsewhere. Statistics is opt-in: nothing analytics-related loads until you press Accept, and pressing Deny leaves analytics off. You can change your choice at any time using the Manage consent tab, or by clearing cookies and reloading. We use strict blocking rather than cookieless pings, so no analytics signal is sent before you consent. The Cookie Policy sets out the cookies involved.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Our practices include:

  • HTTPS across the site, with secure admin access enforced.
  • Administrative access restricted to named individuals, with unused accounts removed.
  • Strong authentication for administrative access, and mandatory two-factor authentication on our managed environments.
  • A web application firewall, malware scanning and login protection on the website.
  • Software kept patched, and file editing disabled at the server level.
  • Scheduled backups retained on a rolling basis.

No system is completely secure. If you believe your information has been compromised, contact us immediately using section 15.

8. How long we keep information

These periods apply subject to any longer period required by law.

RecordRetentionBasis
Website enquiries that do not become clients24 months from last contactEnough to answer follow-ups, no longer than needed
Client project records and correspondence7 years after the engagement endsContract limitation period is 6 years in NSW, plus margin
Invoices, receipts and financial records7 yearsGeneral financial baseline, subject to statutory requirements
Support tickets and system notes24 months after the ticket closesOperational reference
Analytics records (WP Statistics)12 monthsProportional to purpose. Reviewed manually until automated deletion is in place
BackupsRolling, overwritten as new backups are takenNo fixed period is published while the backup schedule is being confirmed
Marketing consent recordsDuration of the relationship plus 5 yearsProof of consent

When information is no longer needed it is deleted or de-identified. Records may persist briefly in backups before being overwritten. Where the law requires longer retention, we keep it longer.

9. Access and correction

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading.

  • Send requests to the privacy contact in section 1.
  • We may ask you to verify your identity first.
  • We will respond within 30 days.
  • We do not charge for making a request or for correcting information.
  • If we refuse, we will say why in writing and explain how to complain.

10. Marketing

We send service updates about work in progress to clients. We send marketing only where you have opted in or the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) otherwise permits. Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe route, and we action unsubscribes promptly. Account and service messages are not marketing.

11. Data breaches

If we become aware of a breach of personal information, we assess whether it is likely to result in serious harm. Where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies, we notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required, and take steps to contain and remediate the breach. Where the scheme does not apply to us, we will still assess the incident, contain it, and tell affected people if their information has been compromised in a way that could harm them.

12. Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your information:

  1. Contact us at hello@techmediamobile.com.au with enough detail to investigate.
  2. We will acknowledge within 5 business days.
  3. We will investigate and respond in writing within 30 days, explaining what we found and what we will do.
  4. If you are not satisfied, and the Privacy Act applies to us, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992. If the Act does not apply to us, we will tell you that at the time, and you may still have remedies under the Australian Consumer Law or in contract.

13. Children

Our services are provided to businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 15. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version with its effective date is always on this page. Where a change materially affects information already collected, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected clients.
